Wedding Photography Tips: What to Plan:

Wedding planning is already a big job, but you don’t want to forget to plan the details surrounding the photos. How do you know what you need to plan? You’re in the right place! 

Bride and Groom

Things to pay attention to when planning a wedding (especially in regards to photos!):

-What time does the sun set?! Can this time be incorporated into your wedding schedule for photos? You may not want to miss the opportunity of golden hour pictures with your photographer! On another note, if your wedding is outside, you may want to make sure the sun won’t be in your guests’ eyes (or remind them to bring sunglasses!).

-Event lighting: You want to find a perfect balance between lighting that sets the mood and also allows for the kind of pictures you want! You may not have much control of the lighting itself, but if you’re not a fan of the inside lighting, you may want to get some photos outside. If you’re not sure, ask your photographer for their opinion and advice… remember they do this for a living.

-Photo Queen/King: Give someone else the responsibility of gathering everyone for photos! Everyone will want to talk to you, so it'll be easy to get sidetracked and lose people if you try to do it yourself! This will allow the process to run smoother and take stress off of you, which is always a plus! If you have a larger family, you may need to select a few people for this job. If you have a DJ, they could also be in charge of this and make a big announcement letting everyone know what’s happening.

-Photo List: Make a list of important details you want photographed from your wedding; This will take a lot of stress off of you and your photographer! This could include the family photos you want done, special details you want to remember, types of photos you want from the reception, etc. This helps make sure that everyone’s on the same page and that nothing is forgotten or left out (or at least gives you more time to think about it!).

Remember the most important part is the love shared between you and your partner and the pictures will capture that! Planning just helps you be able to focus more on the moment knowing everything else is taken care of.
